Athens City Academy of Performing Bards SYNOPSIS: Pursuing her dream of being a great bard, Gabrielle heads off alone to Athens to audition for a coveted spot at the Academy of Performing Bards. Her exceptional talent as a bard is evident, but this troubles Polonius, a classic stage father who will do anything, regardless of the consequences, to assure his son Orion's entry into the prestigious Academy. Gabrielle helps Orion, an incredibly gifted storyteller in his own right, stand up to his father and regain his self-confidence. After being accepted to the Academy, he tells her that his real name is Homer. Gabrielle is also accepted, but declines and rejoins Xena having decided that she'd rather live the adventurous life than just tell stories about it. DISCLAIMER: The producers would like to acknowledge and pay tribute to Stanley Kubrick, Kirk Douglas and all those who were involved with the making of the film classic "Spartacus." Additional thanks to Steve Reeves. PRODUCTION: PROD # 76916 SEASON/EP 1-13 WRITER R.J. Stewart & Steven L.
